Software Development Engineer- (At Scale) Data Center GPU

THE TEAM:

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with our AI based Graphic Processors. Our primary objective is to design exceptional products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for enterprise Data Centers, (AI) Artificial Intelligence, HPC and Embedded systems. THE ROLE:

The Datacenter Graphics and Accelerated Computing (DCGPU) organization is is excited to hire a highly skilled individual to join a team of At Scale engineers responsible for providing an optimized and highly efficient system sharing model across the DCGPU organization. In this role, you would bring a a strong development mindset in an environment responsible for products which are rapidly evolving, and in extremely high demand. This role is a key contributor for brainstorming, developing, and deploying solutions for maximizing resource utilization and efficiency, working to solve sharing and logistical organizational challenges.

THE PERSON:

As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your software systems engineering expertise will be crucial for solution definition, development, and root cause resolution. The right candidate will be experienced with solving complex problems, utilizing existing internal, and external tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Driving technical innovation to improve AMD's capabilities across validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives
  • Debugging issues found during the process, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs
  • Working with multiple teams, and tracking new development and issues, driving solutions in a timely manner to meet deadlines
  • Working closely with supporting various key stakeholders
  • Contributing new, high-quality features and bug fixes to an automation infrastructure - primarily in Python
  • Provide metrics and reporting for senior management & executive reviews

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Programming/scripting skills (Python, Ansible, Django), knowledge of data/configuration formals (JSON, YAML, etc.)
  • Software debug techniques and methodologies
  • Knowledge of hardware architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy
  • Processors, Cache, Memory
  • Physical components of a computer/server
  • Data traffic and management
  • High Speed Interfaces and Interconnects
  • OS Architecture (BIOS, firmware, kernel, and drivers)
  • Experience with GPUs & accelerators and a basic understanding of their typical work models
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Nice to have: Experience with PowerBI and/or other reporting and analytics tools
  • Nice to have: Data Center specific GPUs/accelerators experience

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering
