The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer through patient care, research, and education. The UACC is the only NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center headquartered in the State of Arizona and one of only 53 in the nation. The UACC Cancer Prevention and Control Program is seeking a talented postdoctoral trainee to join their team. The successful candidate will conduct innovative research examining cancer risk factors, outcomes, and disparities across under-resourced populations. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Design and execute research projects
investigating cancer epidemiology, prevention, and outcomes related to variation in the burden of disease in population subgroups. - Author manuscripts for peer-reviewed
publications and present findings at scientific conferences. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of
clinicians, statisticians, and public health researchers. - Mentor graduate students and research
assistants. - Contribute to grant writing and funding
applications. - Lead grant submissions, such as supplements,
pilot awards, and career development awards. - Participate in regular training and
professional development opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS,
or STATA). - Excellence in scientific writing and
communication. - Track record of peer-reviewed publications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a
team. - Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple
projects. - Data analysis, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications |
- MD or PhD in Public
Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Nursing, Health Promotion, or related field. - Research
experience and background in cancer research, epidemiological methods, and statistical analysis. - Must have first
authored peer-reviewed original publications. - Prior
experience in conducting data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior experience in cancer prevention and/or implementation science research.
- Experience with large datasets management and analysis.
