About This Role

The Department of Agronomy at Kanas State University is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support research on cropping systems relevant to developing data-driven and sustainable and resilient cropping systems in Kansas. Candidate will be conducting field and crop simulation modeling and remote sensing applications for evaluating the effects of the environment, management and genotypes on crop performance, yield and profitability.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Ph.D. in Agronomy, Crop Ecology, Crop Science, or a closely related field.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in developing cropping systems under irrigated and dryland systems.
  • Skilled in managing process-based crop models for growth and development
  • Experience with modeling of soil water and fertilizer management.
  • Experience in integrating multiple process-based crop and soil models
  • Knowledge and experience with data management and the use of relevant statistical software such as R, Python, GIS software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work alone and in a multi-disciplinary team comprising staff as well as graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Demonstrated interest and ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals on aspects related to the project.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
