Application Window Open date: April 4, 2025 Next review date: Friday, Apr 18, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Sunday, Aug 31, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for lecturers in Asian American Studies and Ethnic Studies. Lecturer will teach a Community Studies 3-quarter sequence, ASAM 11 (Fall) and a two-quarter seminar (Winter, Spring), in conjunction with other Ethnic Studies departments. Lecturer appointments will have the possibility of reappointment, depending upon performance and programmatic needs. The successful candidate will be expected to teach this three-quarter course sequence that integrates community studies theory and knowledge, with field-work experience and career development skills building, focusing on the historical, sociological, and political issues surrounding community-oriented programs for aggrieved communities. The Program is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through teaching and service. Qualifications Basic qualifications

Masters Degree in Asian American studies, Ethnic Studies, Community Studies, or related fields Additional qualifications

Candidate must have at least one year of teaching experience Preferred qualifications
Ph.D. trained in Asian American Studies, Ethnic Studies, Community Studies, or related fields. Knowledge and experience with community-based organizations, including knowledge of local organizations.
