The Big Ten Network is seeking a Director, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) of B1G+. B1G+ is the network's direct-to-consumer subscription service for thousands of live non-televised games, next day on-demand replays, 18 school channels programmed 24 hours a day and access to Big Ten Network's library of previous season classics and original programming. The role will be fueled by and responsible for driving subscription growth, the subscriber lifecycle, email, and mobile campaigns, and innovative direct-to-consumer marketing strategies. The role reports to the Vice President, Digital.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the strategy for driving prospect and subscriber engagement through CRM channels and beyond, in service of subscriber conversion and retention.
  • Set strategic and operational goals that quantify CRM impact and progress towards key B1G+ goals, ensuring that the CRM strategy ladders into company objectives.
  • This role is pivotal in connecting various elements such as data, customer strategy, content creation, technology, and measurement/analytics to enhance customer engagement and drive business results.
  • Collaboration will be essential, as you will act as the stakeholder and decision maker for teams that collaborate closely with CRM, including marketing, production, legal, Big Ten athletic departments, Big Ten Conference, and Fox Sports.
  • Be a systems expert, cultivating extensive knowledge of our marketing technology stack (Braze, Cleeng, Sportradar) and our data sources.
  • Leverage technology to advance our CRM practices, including targeting, automation, and algorithmic decisioning.
  • Guide prioritization to vendors and partners, making our requirements known and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Manage and grow CRM team, setting performance expectations and providing mentorship to become an industry-leading practice and organization.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 10+ years of experience in CRM, marketing, or digital/social
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively influence various functional groups and up to executive levels
  • Firm grasp of current and emerging digital CRM marketing trends, insights and engagement tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Roadmap development and management
  • Hands-on executional experience with a CRM, specifically Braze strongly preferred
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned and based on the business needs and some travel for specific events

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Strong understanding of the B1G+ product, including StudentU
  • Strong understanding of how Big Ten fans consume and interact with content on primary and secondary screens
  • Excessive Big Ten athletics knowledge

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $143,000.00-170,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
