Job Summary:

This position is critical to supporting key initiatives that support our Business Plan. This position will provide you with specific project responsibilities, access to mentors, and exposure to Marketing initiatives that will be implemented into the business. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple departments on projects that will be implemented in our global locations. You'll also have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with interns across our organization, developing lasting relationships with interns in different disciplines.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions of the Job:

A candidate will get to focus on three main projects during their internship.



  1. Content Creation & Social Media




    • Assist in developing, scheduling, and posting content across social media platforms.
    • Write posts, website content, email newsletters, and promotional materials.
    • Help design graphics and promotional materials using tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
    • Engage with followers and respond to comments/messages on social media.




  1. Showell Project - Administrative Support




    • Update PowerPoint templates with current information.
    • Assist with organizing and maintaining marketing assets.
    • Provide general administrative support as needed.


  1. Social Media (HR focused) - Instagram & TikTok


    • Create engaging Instagram and TikTok content showcasing JOA's company culture, career opportunities, employee testimonials, and why JOA is a great fit for the younger generation.
    • Write engaging copy for HR-related social media posts, website careers pages, employee spotlights, and internal communications.




Occasional Job Responsibilities:



  • Assistance with Leadership Communications: Work with leaders to prepare needed communication materials, including building presentation documents (PowerPoint) and helping to develop speeches.


  • Internal Communications: Positively influence our culture by leveraging effective communication to align and motivate employees to successfully support company strategies and objectives
  • Community Relations: Assist in the determination of strategies to align involvement with communities including community events, philanthropic activities, and investment. Work with external and internal resources to relay that information to key information outlets as needed.


Job Requirements:



  • Enrollment in a technical school or college with emphasis in Marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office Tools - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Intermediate skills preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates exceptional judgement and the ability to ask questions when needed.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle several tasks at a time.
  • Demonstrates initiative and drive.
  • Previous internship in marketing desired.

  • The incumbent will utilize safety glasses and proper footwear when making visits to the production areas.

  • The incumbent will occasionally be required to lift up to 25 pounds, such as loading paper in the copier.

  • The employee works in an office environment with moderate noise. Occasional trips to manufacturing areas will be required.
