Compensation:

We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The hourly range for this position is $28.50 to $30,14 and is commensurate with experience.

Position Description: The Development Coordinator provides essential support to the Individual Philanthropy team, ensuring timely and thoughtful stewardship of donors. This role is primarily responsible for acknowledging various monetary contributions, including annual and major gifts, memorial and honorary donations, monthly sustainer contributions, as well as stock and automobile transfers.

Key responsibilities include: Ensuring accurate and consistent data entry to maintain donor records. Assisting in the identification of donor prospects by preparing reports on giving histories, team performance, and organizational trends as needed. Managing and responding to general inquiries directed to the Development Department via phone and email, ensuring prompt and professional communication. This role plays a vital part in strengthening donor relationships and supporting the overall success of the Individual Philanthropy team.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30pm; Fridays off (Full-Time; 32 hours per week); Hybrid schedule will require 2-3 days in office.

Required: Bachelor's Degree and 1+ years of clerical, administration and data management, and customer service experience. Familiarity with CRM or donor databases.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) with expertise in mail merges.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, particularly for formal correspondence and donor communications.
  • Familiarity with CRM or donor database management; experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and a keen interest in maintaining data accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to engage professionally with donors and stakeholders.
  • Action-oriented with a proactive approach to tasks and problem-solving.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.


Expected Contributions: Fundraising



  • Monitor incoming check deposits, Donor Advised Fund (DAF) and Stock gifts to ensure accurate source coding
  • Prepare and manage donor research profiles for internal donor briefs with Gift Officer's & Executive staff
  • Contribute to and review written materials, including individual donor strategies, briefings, and acknowledgments in a quality consistent with SOME's development communication standards
  • Collaborate with Development team members on communications and engagement efforts of donors


Administrative Support:



  • Office management, including monitoring, ordering, and organizing supplies and printed materials processing invoices; renewing subscriptions; scanning and filing documents; creating and maintaining files
  • Answer department phone line as well as manage voicemail and general email account, responding to donor questions and requests within 24 hours or directing inquiries to the appropriate party for response
  • Provide team support for donor tours and events
  • Provide writing and editing support as needed
  • Assist with accurate record keeping and entering data into Salesforce and other databases
  • Other Duties as Assigned


Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires looking at a computer screen for several hours a day. May be required to sit for long periods.
