POSITION SUMMARY:

As a BSA Specialist, the position will assist with performing BSA, AML, CFT and quality control duties distributed to the division. It is expected for the BSA Specialist to complete assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner. The BSA Specialist positions will interact and assist division staff in the performance of all functions necessary to maintain compliant with policy, procedure, and regulatory expectations.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

The BSA Specialist is responsible for assisting in executing a variety of daily and ongoing duties including, but not limited to:

  • Reviewing customer profile information including CIP, ADD, CDD, and EDD for accuracy and completion.
  • Complete new account reviews
  • Work with CBSAT to investigate identified high risk teller transactions that are suspicious in nature or processed incorrectly to ensure BAM+ data is accurate.
  • Review beneficial ownership reports and documentation for accuracy.
  • Complete Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
  • Complete initial and annual CTR exemption reviews
  • Conduct Initial CTR exemptions and annual reviews.
  • Review division's possible OFAC hit report.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Must comply with all policies, procedures, applicable laws and banking regulations.
  • Distribute exception reports to applicable tasks.
  • Conduct follow-up reviews to assure proper adjustments are made.
  • Assist department in reaching adequate outcomes with department related reviews, audits and exams.

About You

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Must be able to work independently and manage schedule to complete all of tasks in a timely manner.
  • Maintains an understanding and working knowledge of banking operations as they relate to BSA/AML/OFAC compliance including (but not limited too): teller functions, new accounts functions, and deposit operation functions.
  • Ensure quality control requests are handled in a timely manner.
  • Handle all BSA related information, documentation, and communications in a secure and confidential manner.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Thorough knowledge of various office software. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Email and Calendaring.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries of complaints of customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be capable of occasional travel (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.
