We have a contract opportunity for 2 HSE Specialist in Hazelwood Missouri. The client is a world class manufacturer of Diagnostic Medical Devices.
Job Title: HSE Specialist
Location:
Hazelwood, MO (Onsite)
Contract:
6+ month W2 contract (potential to extend or transition to permanent)
Pay Rate:
$32-35/hr (Depending on Education and Experience)
Shift:
Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (may require early arrival at 6 AM on some days; limited overtime availability for team coverage)
Summary:
The HSE Specialist will support the St. Louis sites for manufacturing, R&D, support operations, and commercial operations, including day-to-day Health, Safety, and Environmental activities. This role will develop and deploy a subset of the HSE Management System at the site level under the direction of the Sr. HSE Manager and will be a key stakeholder in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the site maintains a safe and healthy workplace and protects the environment, adhering to applicable legal requirements.
- Support all team members and processes at the STL site.
- Participate in CSR projects and initiatives.
- Support accident investigation processes.
- Actively participate in regional and global HSE initiatives.
- Maintain a regional teamwork approach with other USA sites.
- Operate in an FDA/ISO regulated environment in the Medical Devices/Diagnostics Industry.
- Collaborate with the Site HSE Manager to develop and deploy HSE processes.
- Document, deploy, and train key HSE system users.
- Communicate progress milestones toward HSE system development.
- Deploy specific HSE procedures and report progress toward HSE goals (Job Safety Analyses, Risk Assessments, Environmental Assessments, Incident Reporting System, HSE inspections).
- Drive process improvement initiatives for HSE.
- Implement HSE site policies.
- Compile and report HSE metrics.
- Support new equipment procurement and commissioning activities.
- Assist with ISO 14001 / 45001 Certification Audits.
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
- Take an active role in continuous improvement.
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Health, Safety, Sustainability, and/or Environmental fields.
- Experience within an ISO 14001 / 45001 certified organization preferred.
- Experience with continuous improvement and CSR initiatives preferred.
- Knowledge of US compliance regulations including DOT/OSHA/EPA/NFPA preferred.
