Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Manager - Tampa, FL

Position Summary:
Halff Associates has an immediate opening for a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Manager for our Tampa, FL office. The successful incumbent will oversee the operational flow and be entrusted to undertake a variety of key functions, be an integral manager who is equipped to lead by example and represent Halff in a positive and professional manner. Essential key functions:


  • Leading and managing field crews, while promoting the importance of adhering to project quality and safety.
  • Maintain ongoing communication to coordinate with clients and additional stakeholders to ensure preciseness and accuracy of successfully locating and mapping underground utilities.
  • Ensures safe and efficient excavation and construction while overseeing and managing the location of underground utilities.
  • Responsible for overseeing many aspects of SUE projects, estimating projects, schedules and submittals and emphasizing quality.
  • Closely, and meticulously evaluates the process of maintaining the coordination of field personnel; to ensure quality.
  • Nurture existing professional connections and continuously develop and maintain future connections with valued clients.
  • Be a proactive communicator to anticipate and provide long-term solutions to client's current challenges and future needs.


Requirements:


  • 5 + years of hands-on experience in Subsurface Utility Engineering.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and in-depth awareness of how principles, utility conflict analysis and design standards can be applied effectively.
  • Vastly knowledgeable of SUE and Utility Coordination processes for the purpose of minimizing risks and strategizing to maintain cost effectiveness but not compromise quality.
  • Exceptional understanding of various SUE equipment and functionalities.
  • Ability to review QA/QC projects in the field for the purpose of providing feedback and recommendations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for the purpose of conveying pertinent information and ideas effectively; through various methods of communication, with clarity, conciseness and professional tone.
  • Outstanding prioritization, organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
