Job Details Part time 40 hours biweeklyJob Description Primary Responsibilities The ALS Instructor is responsible for providing advanced life support (ALS) and/or basic life support (BLS) emergency medical services training and education to students enrolled in courses sponsored by JeffSTAT's EMS Training Center. The ALS Instructor is not permanently assigned to a class or group of students, but rather occasionally lectures and presents material on a particular topic or subject matter they are certified and experienced in. Essential Functions Prepares lectures or practical demonstrations as assigned by a full time staff member. Evaluates students, using both written and practical methods, to verify competency; grades evaluations as necessary. Ensures all lectures, presentations, and materials presented to students comply with established national, state, and local curriculum. Ensures students adhere to Training Center policies and procedures; reports students who are non-compliant to the Manager. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital. High School Diploma Required Associate's Degree Preferred Additional Training Requirements American Heart Association ACLS or PALS Instructor certification Required (if teaching AHA Programs) Emergency Medical Services Instructor (Pennsylvania) Required (if teaching paramedic programs) Registered Nurse or Paramedic PA 1.) Previous teaching experience in the discipline in which the instructor is teaching 2.)
