We're looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Senior Technical Writer to join our Technical Publications team. This is a remote position for the USA. Reporting to the Manager, Technical Publications, you will be responsible for:



  • Translating technical information into clear, concise, and effective documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Delivering post-sales content for online documentation (i.e., help articles, release notes, etc.) as well as providing UI text (i.e., tooltips, labels, error messages, etc.) for use by UX and Engineering teams
  • Integrating graphics and illustrations to improve the quality and usability of the documentation
  • Working cross-functionally with SMEs in the Engineering, Field Support, Sales, Training, and Product Marketing teams
  • Leading and mentoring other technical writers on the team and assisting with documentation project scheduling and management


What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)



  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in technical writing, communications, or a related field (certifications in technical writing/communications also acceptable)
  • Excellent oral, written, analytic, and organizational skills
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA and/or Confluence
  • Experience writing REST API documentation, including hands-on knowledge of OpenAPI Specification (Swagger) and JSON


What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)



  • Experience writing online help and knowledge base articles for web or mobile products
  • Experience in Agile environments with hands-on knowledge of HTML5/CSS
  • Background in network or cloud security

Zscaler's salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$105,000 $150,000 USD
