A certified diabetes care and education specialist is a healthcare provider who has specialized knowledge to help you understand and apply diabetes management strategies. We work with prediabetes, Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. We are looking for a RN with a strong clinic background and a special interest in diabetes management. In this role, you will need to be flexible and adaptable. You'll be supporting a variety of populations with a wide range of health challenges. Key here will be your ability to influence and help positively change your clients' daily routines and habits is a key to your success in this role.

Location: 1 Eaton Place, Worcester, MA 01608. Will be required to travel to other local sites regularly

Hours: Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, however, hours may vary depending on business needs

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Assist clients in creating healthy goals for their personal health & wellness programs
  • Deliver effective telephonic coaching in a manner that promotes behavior change
  • Adapt telephonic coaching and education methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural and age-specific needs of each client
  • Triages patient visits and/or calls, prioritize clinical issues and direct clinical staff in delivery of patient care
  • Provide quality care to Endocrinology patients with complex issues

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in nursing, health education, nutrition, exercise physiology or a closely related field
  • CDCES or ability to obtain within 2 years of employment
  • 6+ months of experience with disease prevention (cardiovascular and diabetes) and understanding of exercise principles, nutrition and weight management



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated knowledge of various software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current license as an RN in the State of Massachusetts


The hourly range for this role is $23.70 to $46.35 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
