Technical Operator II

Summary
This is an intermediate-level position in manufacturing; am able to work on mid-level complex tasks and understand general manufacturing processes. Able to work with very small parts. Have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity with vision corrected to 20/20. Fastidious in attention to detail. Excellent work ethic and strong sense of urgency. Good interpersonal skills, reliable, tactful, mature, flexible, reliable.
This position will work the first shift from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
Position Duties
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Organize materials per lot and required assembly work order
- Prepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies
- Assemble electronic components onto support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assemblies using soldering. Perform assembly of small components under microscope per written instructions
- Connects component lead wires to solder pads and routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, solder terminals, and contact points, using soldering equipment
- Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits
- Adjust or repair electrical assemblies
- Able to use assembly fixtures
- Able to use and work under microscope
- Document lot traceability for all steps of the assembly process

- Locates and positions small components and parts to be processed, by following blueprints and Standard Work Instructions.
- Works at the station as a member of the manufacturing group producing one or more specific parts to meet production requirements.
- Locates and positions parts in specific areas and secures them in place.
- Soldering intricate parts by following schematic, blueprint, and Standard Work Instructions to produce increasingly more complex parts. Soldering previous certifications desirable.
- Verifies dimensions or appearance of a part after process using basic measuring tools and gauges.
- Ability to dimensional aspects with related test fixtures.
- Must be able to work some overtime only as driven by the business needs from time to time, including Saturdays
- Performs related duties, which may be assigned, from one area task to another at the area supervisor's requirements.
Qualifications

- Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required
- Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness
- Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams
- Perform assembly operations under a microscope is a must
- Blueprint and/or schematic reading
- Ability to work with microscope
- Finger dexterity in manipulating small parts
- Hand-eye coordination
- Ability to take directions well from leads/ supervisors and work well in a team environment
- Proactively help improve processes and be able to cross-train
- Ability to verify the process of part per the final blueprint
- Effective communication skills in English with the ability to read, speak, and understand English.
Education/Previous Experience
- High school education or general education degree (GED),
- A minimum of three years of manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Soldering experience (time)
- Soldering small electronic assemblies under microscope

The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull, or move up to fifty (50) pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility.
- Safety glasses, shop coat/apron, proper shoes.
- Occasional exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and fumes.
Compensation Pay range for this Non-Exempt role: $22.00-$29.00
