Position Details:

Pay: $26.74 an hour

Hours: 12-hour rotating shifts

A Day in the Life:

The Process Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of soybean processing equipment, contributing directly to the production of high-quality products while upholding Bunge's commitment to safety and food safety standards. This position is essential for maintaining continuous plant operations and meeting customer demands.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Safety:Actively participate in Bunge's safety programs, maintain a safe work environment, and adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, embodying a zero-incident safety culture.
  • Food Safety and Quality:Strictly adhere to all HACCP procedures and guidelines, ensuring product safety and quality throughout the production process. This includes securing samples, performing quality control tests, and complying with all relevant food safety regulations and customer requirements.
  • Equipment Operation & Control:Operate and control soybean processing equipment and machinery. This is a key aspect of the role, directly impacting production efficiency and output.
  • Process Monitoring & Control:Record data, collect samples, and perform required process control tests, ensuring the successful operation of the plant and adherence to quality standards. This involves careful observation, documentation, and prompt reporting of any deviations.
  • Continuous Improvement:Cross-train in all plant processes to broaden skillset and contribute to overall team flexibility and operational efficiency. This also includes actively participating in improvement initiatives, identifying and reporting potential hazards, and suggesting solutions to enhance processes.
  • Housekeeping:Maintain general housekeeping and cleanliness of the plant work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. This includes cleaning equipment, removing debris, and adhering to sanitation standards. This aligns with good manufacturing practices.
  • Compliance and Reporting:Accurately record data and report any equipment or process deficiencies to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
  • Other Duties:Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing operational needs.

Education/ Skills

  • Education:High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Experience:1-2 years in a process or operator role is preferred.
  • Teamwork:Must be able to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve production goals. Many roles involve rotating shifts, requiring flexibility and the ability to communicate and cooperate with team members across shifts.
  • Mechanical Aptitude:Some mechanical background is needed, including the ability to recognize signs of equipment malfunction and potentially perform minor repairs.
  • Communication Skills:Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, particularly in English, for record-keeping, training, and communication with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Shift Work & Overtime:Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, is essential. Overtime is also required, both as part of the regular schedule and for coverage as needed.
