Dental Clinic at the UMKC School of Dentistry

Job Description

The UMKC Dental School is taking applications for a Clinic Supervisor. Successful candidates will be patient-focused individuals with proven leadership experience, and the ability to build relationships within all levels of the organization.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze and revise staff and clinical operations, methods and procedures in order to ensure quality services are being provided
  • Supervise dispensary staff to maintain an efficient flow of work and desirable levels of productivity.
  • Monitor staff schedules and ensure there is adequate staffing.
  • Prepare, present, and monitor periodic performance reviews for staff, and counsel and recommend formal disciplinary action regarding performance.
  • Perform time and attendance reporting.
  • Oversee the ordering and restocking of all clinic supplies needed for students to adequately treat their patients.
  • Assist management in preparation of budgets, policies or work standards.
  • Confer with other departments to resolve operational problems and promote communications.
  • Manage special projects as assigned by the Clinic Manager.
  • Maintain supplies needed in the 1st floor dental lab.
  • Schedule monthly meeting to address needs, concerns, and recommendations that staff may contribute.
  • Other duties as assigned
Shift

This will be an onsite position supporting the Dental Clinic. Ideal work hours will be 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 2 years of experience from which
comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Regulatory compliance experience in a dental clinic.
  • Proficiency with Axium software.
  • Dental business office experience.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience
Anticipated Hiring Range

Anticipated Salary: up to $59,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.

Full time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), benefit-eligible staff position.
