Lathrop GPM, one of the nation's leading law firms, has an immediate opening for a Senior Pricing Manager in our Minneapolis, MN or Kansas City, MO location.

The Senior Pricing Manager reports to the Chief Client Officer and will provide leadership and drive innovation in the pricing of legal services to support the firm's strategic, financial, and business objectives. This role is responsible for leading and managing the firm's pricing activities and initiatives and will provide support to senior legal and administrative leadership by providing business and market intelligence to support the firm's rate-setting process and pricing philosophy.

  • Develop, define, and implement advanced pricing strategies tailored to the firm's financial objectives and the demands of the U.S. legal market.
  • Lead the annual rate setting process working directly with the CFO, Directors of Practice Management and Practice Group leads to ensure that rates are developed with a focus on areas of service and geographic pressures while still supporting the firm's financial goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to partners and the business development team to formulate pricing proposals for new and existing clients and develop negotiating talking points.
  • Utilize advanced financial modeling to evaluate pricing structures and their impact on the firm's bottom line.
  • Collaborate with the firm's business intelligence function to leverage data analytics and technology solutions.
  • Lead educational sessions for attorneys to enhance their understanding of effective pricing approaches and negotiation strategies.
  • Stay informed of pricing industry trends and apply new concepts and best practices to the firm's pricing strategies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • In partnership with attorneys and Directors of Practice Management, collaborate on staffing solutions that best align with budget proposals.
  • Work closely with the CCO and other members of firm leadership to proactively identify tools and services at the firm that can be turned into revenue generators.
  • Monitor the firm's client portfolio and identify opportunities for improving revenue through rate increases or alternative fee arrangements.
  • Supervise pricing analyst in refining and documenting budgeting procedures and data analysis projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent required; MBA preferred
  • 7 years of relevant experience in finance and/or pricing in a professional services firm. Law firm experience is preferred
  • Must have experience in scenario modeling/compiling pricing proposals and understanding the levers to deliver client value focused commercially viable pricing
  • Must possess a strong understanding of the fundamental elements of pricing
  • Proven track record of developing advisory relationships with key stakeholders and senior leadership with the ability to influence decisions and outcomes at the senior level.
  • Must be able to work with large volumes of data and possess advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Current anticipated salary range for applicants as required by applicable state laws is $121,000 - $ 165,000 depending on experience. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range. Full comprehensive benefit plan including health care, retirement plan and paid days off, including PTO, parental leave, and short/long term disability.
