Job Summary

The UET Site Manager has overall responsibilities for all day-to-day operations of the training site. They will supervise all staff personnel during the regular performance of training and maintenance operations. They will be the direct liaison with local military officials on the installations. Additionally, they must maintain all required certifications of a UET instructor.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Supervise a diverse training staff of 8-20 plus instructors during the execution of Underwater Training IAW the requirements of the customer.
  • Supervise the training and qualification of new instructors as needed IAW the requirements of the customer.
  • Supervise the regular maintenance efforts of the site IAW with the requirements of the customer and all applicable equipment manuals and safety requirements.
  • Ensure all training operations are conducted IAW with the customer's requirements.
  • Ensure all maintenance efforts are conducted to ensure the continued safe and regular operation of all training equipment.
  • Ensure all required administrative activities and reporting are completed IAW with internal company requirements and the requirements of the customer and external agencies as required.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct all purchasing activities for the site IAW with internal company procedures.
  • Perform duties as a UET instructor as needed to maintain proficiency and support regular training operations.
  • Coordinate with local military installation officials for the regular and emergency maintenance and upkeep of the pool and training facilities.
  • Responsible for maintaining the physical inventory, and all associated recordkeeping, of the site.
  • Document processes and provide continual process improvement.
  • Comply with company standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly responsible for the leadership of the site training team and all management activities related to the safe and effective operation of the site.
Required Qualifications and Education
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience as an UET Instructor in the USMC UET training program.
  • Certified PADI or NAUI Rescue Diver (other certifying organizations recognized upon approval by the customer).
  • Cardiopulmonary (CPR) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification from either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
  • DAN certified in the Identification of Compressed Air Injuries and Neurological Examinations
  • 02 Administration from a nationally certified organization.
  • American Red Cross or American Lifeguard Association certification as a Lifeguard
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS office products specifically word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. Comfortable in the use of timekeeping programs such as, but not limited to, ADP. Additionally, should be able to use the Internet at an intermediate level of proficiency to complete required annual on-line training and perform basic research on topics such as academic presentation techniques and underwater egress developments.
  • Customer Service Expectations (Summary): To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to orally communicate clearly and persuasively in both a large formal classroom environment and one-on-one. Should be able to professionally and effectively communicate in a written format. Manage difficult or emotional employee situations and personal emotions; listening and providing feedback to ensure and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Reasoning Ability: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide solutions, often in a time-constrained underwater setting. May work independently, or with moderate to limited supervision based on experience level.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Work Environment: Performing the duties of this job will require the employee to work in a variety of environments. While instructing students the employee will sometimes work in a large formal classroom setting utilizing office equipment and interacting with other employees and students. Other times the employee will spend 6 hours a day or more in a chlorinated pool, either in a climate-controlled building or an outdoor environment exposed to the elements. The employee will be regularly subjected to extreme high and low temperatures depending on the time of year.

  • Lifting / Bending: Generally required intermittently on a regular basis throughout the workday in a variety of settings. May be required to lift up to 45 pounds without assistance or 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Vision (Close / Distance / Peripheral): Generally required to work with close/peripheral vision on a regular basis, to include in an underwater environment. Distance vision required periodically. Ability to adjust focus.
  • Manual Dexterity: Able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Use computer, office equipment/supplies and basic hand-tools.
  • Hearing: Generally, ability to hear oral instructions, presentations, and equipment operations. Noise level exposure is moderate.
  • Travel (Auto / Plane / etc.): Travel local or out of the area to conduct business, training or conferences as required.
