Primary Responsibilities
- Provide pre-negotiation project, parcel and property owner due diligence and non-complex negotiations for acquisition of rights relative to public or private projects as assigned
- Review appraisals and just compensation; verify parcel on right-of-way plans or plats; verify property owners and the extent of interests; prepare offer packages; and maintain complete and detailed records/files with owner contacts, maps, drawings, exhibits and detailed progress reports
- Coordinate right-of-way and utility issues for clients as assigned
- Will be responsible for schedule and budget.
- Implement applicable federal, state and industry laws and regulations such as FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, FERC, NEPA, and the Uniform Act, as well as the client's policies and procedures
- In conjunction with others, perform activities to support Real Property projects, such as property assessments, risk analysis, acquisition of needed rights, occupant relocation, property management, construction coordination, and utility relocation/coordination
- Prioritize work and perform activities at a high level. Work independently or closely with a team, confidently with clients, property owners, and occupants, and be flexible for travel, as required
- Communicate and document effectively.
- Work flexible hours and coordinate closely with management
- Perform other duties as needed
#LI-JS6 Preferred Qualifications
- Florida Real Estate license in good standing, or equivalent, as required by law
- Previous experience with FDOT or Florida Turnpike projects a plus
- Database and GIS familiarity
- Local candidates are preferred
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in real estate or 120 hours of documented real estate training
- Ability to understand and work in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations specific to the real estate and right-of-way industry, such as the Uniform Act, FERC and NEPA
- Proficient with standard technology tools such as Microsoft Office and Project
- Strong communication skills, basic understanding of negotiation and presentation skills, and ability to work flexible hours and effectively with people of all types
- Ability to work confidently with clients, property owners and occupants
- Effectively balance office and field work in a collaborative and deadline-sensitive manner
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Availability to work flexible hours and coordinate closely with management
