Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) is currently ranked as the #1 children's hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. The opportunity

Community, Opportunities, and Advancement at Children's Hospital (COACH)

The High School COACH summer internship is a 30 hours/week paid program running from Monday, June 23-Friday, August 8, 2025. This program offers:

  • Exposure to a variety of healthcare careers

  • Increased knowledge of healthcare career pathways for high school-to-workforce and high school-to-college populations

  • Introduction to foundational interpersonal skills needed to be successful in a healthcare setting

What you'll do

High school internship opportunities are generally administrative in nature. Previous interns have been hosted by departments such as:

  • Pharmacy

  • Office of the CEO

  • Environmental Health and Safety

  • Endocrinology

  • Emergency Department

  • Ophthalmology-Whitman Lab

Internship roles may be full in -person or hybrid, with the schedule determined by the department and supervisor.

Recruitment process

  • Resume review & interviews: Applications will be screened, and interviews will be scheduled as appropriate. Resumes are required; if you need assistance developing a resume, please contact coach@childrens.harvard.edu.

  • Students referred by our community partners will follow the process defined by the partner organization.

  • Offer decision: We will follow up within one week of your interview.

  • Onboarding: Those selected for the internship program will complete onboarding by May to ensure a smooth start to the program.
