Salary Range: $29-$32 Per Hour Position Summary: Without supervision, performs electrical maintenance, lighting repairs, bulb replacements, and performs trouble shooting as required for electrical and other onsite equipment. Conducts electrical preventative and corrective maintenance duties based on need. This position is in the Rocky Mountain Region _Based out of Colorado. Occasional travel within region as needed. Responsibilities/ Essential Job Functions: This is not intended as a comprehensive list - it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Requires specific and expert knowledge in electrical, and general knowledge in other general maintenance work areas.
- Executes scheduled assignments, work requests, and projects.
- Performs preventative maintenance on all minor and major pieces of electrical and mechanical equipment related to facilities in accordance with the Manufacturer O&M requirements.
- Has general mechanical knowledge of commercial equipment, in order to assist in preventative maintenance needs and troubleshooting.
- Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine correct layout and troubleshoot of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Installs, examines, replaces, and repairs electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures and ballasts, and other electrical components.
- Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
- Knowledge and certification to perform Infrared Panel Scans as required
- Maintains, repairs, and tests switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors.
- May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
- Research and specify repair parts from manuals and computer sources.
- Complies with all equipment, safety, and OSHA rules and regulations.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Preferred experience in other general mechanic trades including, plumbing, lighting, and general maintenance.
- Preferred experience performing quality control duties.
- Ability to travel to work sites as required daily.
- Ability to be out of town 1-3 overnights per month as needed.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Qualified person must have a current electrical license and qualified as defined by NFPA.
- Journeyman must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in commercial facilities.
- Min. 5 years' experience as an electrician
- Analyzing and troubleshooting problems with equipment, identifying solutions, recommending, and implementing methods, procedures, and/or techniques for resolution.
- Able to read blueprints and develop "As Built" drawings for all components of facility maintenance.
- Mathematical computations and applications skills.
- Complying with all Company policies and procedures, including Company safety rules and regulations, recognizing hazards, and taking appropriate corrective action.
- Performing preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment and operating systems.
- Performing repair techniques including, but not limited to, cutting, drilling, gluing, caulking, fastening of plastic, wood, and steel, etc.
- Understanding and following written and oral instructions.
- Training and coaching other mechanics.
- Reading, writing, and speaking English, and communicating clearly and concisely.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with individuals contacted in the course of work.
- Intermediate or advance skill level in Word Document, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to utilize a tablet or iPad in the work field, to successfully perform daily job tasks
Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of five (5) years of experience as an electrician. Valid Driver's License, acceptable driving history, and ability to drive to multiple facilities on a weekly basis. Certified to work in Indiana as required by County. Must be able to pass a government background check for unescorted access to facilities. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Incumbents in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling, stooping, and crouching climbing and walking, monitor, occasional lifting of equipment or materials weighing up to 75 pounds and handling loud mechanical room noises.
