Job Title: Offsite and Travel Personal Assistance Services (PAS) Specialist

Location: Primarily within 30 miles of Naval Support Activity (NSA) Panama City, FL, with travel as required for government employee support.

Job Summary: The Offsite and Travel PAS Specialist will provide personal assistance services to government employees with targeted disabilities during both telework and travel scenarios. This role involves supporting individuals with activities of daily living to facilitate their professional responsibilities outside the traditional office environment.

Responsibilities:



  • Telework Support:

    • Provide PAS at the homes of government employees on scheduled telework days.
    • Assist with daily living tasks such as feeding, restroom support, and mobility assistance within the home environment, ensuring safety and comfort.


  • Travel Support:

    • Accompany government employees on work-related travel (TDY), which may include air travel, hotel stays, and attendance at conferences or meetings.
    • Assist with:

      • Pushing wheelchairs or managing other mobility devices.
      • Baggage handling, including carrying and claiming luggage, and ensuring it is transported into and out of vehicles, airplanes, and hotel rooms.
      • Toileting assistance during travel.
      • Transferring individuals in and out of vehicles, including cars, buses, airplanes, and mobility devices.
      • Securing accessible rental vehicles and verifying that hotel accommodations meet accessibility standards.
      • Providing support if medical attention is needed.
      • Assistance with meals, including retrieving food, feeding, and managing dining logistics during travel.
      • Packing, unpacking, and retrieving items as needed.
      • Assisting with personal care like dressing and grooming while away from home.




  • General Responsibilities:

    • Ensure privacy and dignity of the individual are maintained at all times.
    • Communicate effectively with government employees and other relevant parties to coordinate travel logistics and accommodations.
    • Document all provided services and report status in the monthly contract status report.




Qualifications:



  • Experience:

    • Proven experience in providing personal care or assistance, particularly to individuals with disabilities.
    • Experience in travel coordination or similar logistical support is highly desirable.


  • Skills:

    • Strong interpersonal skills with an empathetic, patient, and respectful approach to personal assistance.
    • Excellent organizational and logistical planning capabilities.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
    • Proficiency in basic administrative tasks, especially related to travel and scheduling.


  • Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.
    • Must be able to travel, potentially for extended periods, including overnight stays.


  • Certifications/Licenses:

    • Valid driver's license.
    • Certification or training in personal care assistance or a related field is preferred.


  • Security Clearance:

    • Will require a background check for access to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
