Job Title: Security Policy and Programs Support Specialist

Location: Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), Panama City, FL

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated professional for the position of Security Policy and Programs Support Specialist to provide comprehensive support services to the Security Policy and Programs and Emergency Management functions at NSWC PCD. This role involves managing and supporting security protocols, policies, and operations to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy (DoN) regulations.

Responsibilities:




  • Security Administration: Maintain a fundamental working knowledge of Security Administration, focusing on Information and Personnel Security as outlined by the Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) and other relevant DoD directives.



  • Security Support Services:




    • Upload data and forms into databases and Microsoft TEAMS.



    • Assist in maintaining procedural manuals and instructions related to security operations.



    • Support the Information Security Program through tasks like reviewing and managing security containers, documents, and visitor logs.



    • Manage the receipt, dispatch, and destruction of classified materials.



    • Coordinate with NATO program support, ensuring compliance by validating documents and maintaining electronic records.





  • Emergency Management:




    • Participate in emergency preparedness exercises, recording responses and ensuring departments are ready for inclement weather or other emergencies.



    • Assist in updating emergency action plans, particularly related to facility floor plans and emergency equipment.





  • Personnel Security:




    • Validate security background investigations and clearances for personnel.



    • Initiate and monitor background investigations using systems like DISS and NBIS.





  • Training and Awareness:




    • Support the Security Education, Awareness, and Training (SETA) Program by monitoring and tracking required security training for Command personnel.






Qualifications:




  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in security management is advantageous.



  • Experience:




    • Minimum of 2 years in a role related to security administration, with a focus on information and personnel security.



    • Experience with security systems and databases, such as DISS and NBIS.





  • Clearance: Must hold a SECRET level security clearance.



  • Skills:




    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data management.



    • Strong organizational and communication skills.



    • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with discretion.






Preferred Skills:




  • Familiarity with DoD and Navy security protocols, policies, and documentation standards.



  • Knowledge of records management principles as per SECNAV M-5210.1 CH-1.
