Job Title: Graphics and Videography Specialist Location: Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD), Panama City, FL Job Summary: We are seeking skilled individuals for the role of Photographic and Video Support Specialist to support the operation of NSWC PCD's Photography and Video Studio. This position requires expertise in both still and motion photography, particularly in technical environments, to provide visual documentation for various projects and events. Responsibilities:
Photography and Videography: Produce stills and motion pictures, including high-speed photography and video to document technical processes and achievements. Equipment and Setup: Select cameras, lenses, filters, lighting, and backdrops; plan photographic coverage to fulfill project requirements. Project Collaboration: Work closely with project leaders to devise photographic solutions for harsh or unstable environments, such as aboard helicopters or vessels at sea, ensuring equipment and installations are suitable for the conditions. Event Coverage: Arrange and photograph dedication ceremonies, news events, re-enlistment, retirement ceremonies, and visitors, ensuring artistic value and effective communication of the event's purpose. Studio Work: Perform passport and portrait photography in the studio, manage equipment readiness, and handle post-production tasks like cataloging, notating, and archiving photographic and video media. Technical Support: Provide technical photographic support for up to 16 hours per day on vessels at sea and coordinate aerial photography via commercial aircraft when required. Maintenance and Preparation: Maintain photographic equipment in a state of readiness, including loading cameras and managing battery life.
Qualifications:
Education: An Associate degree or equivalent in photography, videography, or related fields; or equivalent professional experience. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of full-time work experience in technical photography and videography. Skills: Proficient in using digital still and video cameras, broadcast cameras, and software like Adobe Creative Suite, AfterEffects, CorelDRAW, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Apple Motion. Experience with NewTek TriCaster is advantageous. Security Clearance: Must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET level DoD security clearance. Physical Ability: Capability to work effectively in challenging environments for extended periods, including aboard vessels or helicopters.
Preferred Skills:
Demonstrated experience in setting up and operating photographic equipment in harsh environments. Proven ability to produce artistically and technically sound images under pressure. Familiarity with the Navy's operational protocols and the ability to work within classified settings.
