  • Provides direct input on strategic and tactical planning development to include development, evaluation, and coordination of the healthcare network's information solutions and technology systems.
  • Working directly with infrastructure and service areas of the IS team, the Director of IS will also ensure alignment of these components with the efforts of the Business Solutions Team.
  • Oversees the infrastructure and service operations responsibilities will include the increasing performance of these areas and establishing leading-edge solution approaches that are cost-effective.
  • Development of reporting metrics.
  • Manage multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging, and office automation.
  • Designs, implements and evaluates the systems that are utilized by the end users to ensure productive use of computer hardware and software and ease of use and reliability of these systems.
  • Develops and implements user-training programs and efforts to increase overall userbase digital literacy as well as awareness around cybersecurity, HIPPA, and other regulatory processes as they relate to systems overseen by IS.
  • Oversees and evaluates system security and backup procedures as well as other key systems to ensure that access is well maintained.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing staff and solutions as well as implementation of new agency-wide information systems, as needed.
  • Oversees personnel development and hiring within the areas and responsibilities assigned to this role.
  • Works directly to improve service and reliability of systems as well as overall customer service delivery processes.
  • Works to improve the skillsets and cross-training of IS staff to ensure constant improvement to service delivery.
  • Review all hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts.
  • Assists in the development of and monitors the annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Develops and maintains the systems architecture, defining standards and protocols for data exchange, communications, and software and interconnection of healthcare network information systems.
  • Develop and maintain systems recovery plans to ensure that Disaster Recovery, business Continuity, Incident Response and Ransomware processes.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of healthcare information systems and information technology, direct management of an enterprise level IT operation is required.
  • Significant experience in the healthcare industry is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems planning to support the operational and strategic business goals of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with desktop, notebook, handheld, and server computer hardware.
  • Familiarity with local and wide area network design, implementation, and operation.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Unix, and Linux.
