Responsibilities

Join our dynamic outpatient psychiatric clinic as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and be part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients experiencing psychiatric and mental health disorders.

About the Role: As an MA/LPN, you will play a crucial role in providing ancillary support in our clinic. You will work closely with psychiatric nurses and providers to coordinate psychiatric services, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care. Your knowledge of medical practices, combined with your compassionate approach, will help create a safe and welcoming environment for our patients and their families.

This role is 100% onsite at our Edina Clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver care in a non-judgmental and sensitive manner, respecting the developmental age and diversity of each patient and their family.
  • Track and communicate important medical and psychiatric information through verbal and written documentation in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Perform a variety of clinical interventions as delegated by physicians, nurse practitioners, RNs, and LPNs, including EKGs, venipunctures, and medication administration.
  • Screen and manage patient calls, addressing their needs or directing them to the appropriate clinic nursing support team member.
  • Monitor and respond to requests in the task management system, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques.
  • Assist with medication refills, insurance pre-authorizations, and laboratory supply management.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, seeking advice and providing feedback to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant or LPN program is required.
  • For LPN candidates, MN LPN licensure is required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA preferred.

Pay range for the MA position is $22.06 to $28.84 depending on education and experience.

Pay range for the LPN position is $25 to $31.73 depending on education and experience.
