What to Expect We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 7-15 years of experience in designing, optimizing, and managing process systems, with a preference for experience in utility systems such as cooling water, air, and boilers. Knowledge of slurry processes is a bonus, adding value to this role in specialized applications. What You'll Do Design, implement, and optimize utility systems, including cooling water, compressed air, and boiler systems Develop and maintain process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and system layouts Conduct process evaluations to improve system efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate utility systems into broader project designs Specify and procure process equipment, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to utility systems and other processes Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up of process systems Perform system audits and propose upgrades or modifications to improve performance Maintain detailed documentation, including design calculations, technical reports, and compliance records If applicable, design and manage processes involving slurries, optimizing flow, mixing, and handling solutions What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience 7-15 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on utility systems Strong understanding of utility systems such as cooling water, compressed air, and boilers Proficiency in process design tools and software Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams Experience with slurries, including handling, flow, and mixing processes Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to utility systems and process engineering Hands-on experience in commissioning and troubleshooting utility or slurry systems Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Aetna PPO and HSA plans > 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Account) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program
