The Contribution You'll bring to this Role:

Justrite Manufacturing, the leading source of storage, handling, and security products including fire prevention safety equipment for hazardous materials, environmental protection spill containment devices, and specialized storage products, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Technician to join their operation at their Mattoon, IL facility. The Manufacturing Engineer Technician is responsible for supporting the engineering team in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment. This role plays a key part in ensuring that production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet the company's quality standards.

What You'll Do at Justrite:



  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Provide technical support to the production team to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other departments to develop new tooling, fixtures, and jigs to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Conduct time studies and analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes, including work instructions and process flow diagrams.
  • Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring that processes are optimized for production.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend maintenance or upgrades to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Work closely with the Quality department to ensure that all products meet the required specifications and standards.
  • Assist in training production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices.


Your Skills and Expertise:

To ensure your success from day one in this role, Justrite requires the following qualifications at a minimum:



  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. A Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of two to three years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metalworking or sheet metal industry.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, is a plus


Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:



  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of automated forming equipment, welding processes, and other fabrication techniques is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


Compensation:

The position offers a competitive hourly salary ranging from $30/hr to $33/hr.

Actual base salaries will vary and may be above or below the recommended pay range based on factors such as but not limited to location, relevant experience and performance. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan to enhance their overall total compensation package when Justrite Safety Group and their business units achieve annual business and financial targets.
