PeopleTec is currently seeking a Data System Architect to support our Huntsville, AL location.

We specialize in Digital Transformation, Cloud Services, DevSecOps, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence (BI), Data Science, and Machine Learning (ML) related initiatives, both in the federal and commercial space. We are currently seeking a mid/senior-level Product Manager to support our Huntsville location.

We are seeking a visionary Data System Architect to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and implementing a robust data infrastructure to support the decentralized management of data across multiple cloud and on-premises domains. The role requires deep technical expertise in data architecture, software development, and a solid understanding of organizational change management to drive the adoption of a data mesh model.

Duties:

    Design and develop data architectures that integrate seamlessly with existing systems and supports future scalability
  • Apply domain-driven design principles to ensure that the data architecture aligns with business domains and their specific requirements
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate these into technical specifications
  • Optimize data flow and processing to maximize performance and reliability across distributed data sources and destinations.
  • Develop flexible integration strategies to incorporate new technologies and methodologies without disrupting existing operations
  • Implement robust data governance practices that ensure data quality and consistency while complying with regulatory requirements


Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • At least 8 years of data architecture design and development experience with various data storage, processing technologies, and modern data architecture principles such as domain-driven design.
  • Proven experience in cloud platforms (data services), big data technologies, Azure cloud services, including Azure Functions, Azure Synapse pipelines and AWS cloud services.
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms and services (e.g., cloud data services, Kafka, Spark) and data modeling techniques.
  • Proficient in software development with experience in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Java, etc.).
  • Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies, including CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to drive change across organizational boundaries.
  • Located in the Huntsville, AL area or willing to relocate.
  • Travel as required (estimated 10%).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates must hold or be able to obtain and hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
