PeopleTec is currently seeking a Risk Management Framework (RMF) Specialist to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is seeking a highly motivated RMF Specialist to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This position will lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of RMF packages for digital engineering and digital ecosystem initiatives. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity standards, enable secure operations of state-of-the-art digital engineering infrastructure, and support distributed digital ecosystems critical to mission success.This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to secure digital engineering capabilities while addressing cybersecurity requirements for acquisition and developmental testing programs.

Duties:

    Develop, maintain, and deliver comprehensive RMF documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), Policies and Procedures, Risk Assessment Reports (RAR), and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Conduct system categorization and select security controls per NIST, FIPS, and CNSSI guidelines.
  • Guide systems through the RMF lifecycle to achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Ensure adherence to DoD regulations, such as DoDI 8510.01, NIST SP 800-37, and NIST SP 800-53.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of digital engineering systems.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning, STIG checks and risk assessments as needed.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop and validate mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with program managers, engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and accrediting authorities to address security requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on security goals and priorities.


Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and implementing RMF packages within the DoD or federal government environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in securing digital engineering systems and cloud-based infrastructures.
  • In-depth knowledge of RMF processes, DoD cybersecurity policies, and NIST standards.
  • Proficiency with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS, EvaluateSTIG and eMASSter) and compliance tools (e.g., eMASS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Travel as required (estimated 10%).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates must hold or be able to obtain and hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • CISSP, CAP, or equivalent certification.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with distributed testing and evaluation environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, including cloud security principles, architecture, and implementation in environments such as AWS, Azure, or DoD-specific cloud platforms.
