Engineering Director-QEA Retail
Location: Seattle, WA (Remote)
Required Qualifications:
* Overall 20+ years of IT experience with 10+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
* Proven track record of delivering complex engineering engagement.
* Strong knowledge of software development, Quality Engineering, Test Automation, system architecture and engineering standard methodologies.
* Strong Retail domain knowledge and experience in handling large scale Retail engagements
* Experience in leading transformation assignment for large corporates
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Roles/Responsibilities:
The Engineering Director will be responsible for leading and managing engineering team to deliver innovative solutions that align with business goals of the customer. This role involves overseeing engineering projects, ensuring technical excellence, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Strategy:
* Develop and implement engineering strategies that aligns with customer's vision and objectives.
* Provide technical leadership and direction to the engineering team.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with business goals.
2. Project Management:
* Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects on time and within budget.
* Ensure projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
* Manage risks and resolve technical issues that may impact project delivery.
3. Team Management:
* Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent.
* Create a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration within the team.
* Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
4. Technical Oversight:
* Ensure the implementation of standard methodologies in software development, system architecture, and engineering processes.
* Drive innovation in line with industry trends and emerging technologies.
* Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of engineering solutions.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience in DevOps experience and delivery high velocity projects
* Experience in Microservice technologies/Architecture
* Extensive knowledge on Mobile and Handheld Technologies
* Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and Quality Engineering technologies
* Experience in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.
* Experience in Adobe Technology Stack.
* Experience in Test Automation tools - Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, etc.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $103,050 - $188,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
