The Office of Information Technology (
OIT) is Rutgers' enterprise IT office.
OIT provides university wide services and support and collaborates with department and unit IT professionals on projects and initiatives for the Rutgers community. OIT's services and systems include the Rutgers network; email and calendaring systems; IDs/passwords and identity management; data centers; computer labs; help desk support; wireless connectivity; a software portal; information security, risk, and compliance services; research computing; and many others. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Telecommunications Analyst IV for the Office of Information Technology. Reporting to the Manager of the
OIT-Enterprise Infrastructure Telepresence and Conferencing group, the Telecommunications Analyst IV provides engineering support for the Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Control Hub, Webex, Zoom, and Telepresence Rooms, providing services across all campuses.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provides central support to core systems, designs, configures, installs, manages, and troubleshoots Unified Communications hardware and software.
- Supports and utilizes add-on applications to support E911, VoIP Gateways, Core Monitoring Systems, and Telephone Number Management Systems.
- Develops positive relationships with departmental clients and supporting the mission and values of the Office of Information Technology - Enterprise Infrastructure.
- Oversees Rutgers Unified Communication core applications and servers' maintenance, upgrades, and expansions.
- Participates in and oversees site assessment and system design, staging, testing, and deployment while working closely with other OIT staff members and technicians.
- Meets with and provides guidance to university departments regarding their unified communications needs while offering and implementing technical solutions.
- Prepares and provides project and equipment information including cost estimates to departmental clients.
- Effectively utilizes network testing equipment for troubleshooting.
- Monitors and utilizes Unified Communications monitoring tools.
- Updates documentation and reports as required.
- Provides onsite support as well as training to end-users and departmental staff in NJ.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- A minimum of six (6) years of hands-on experience managing a large enterprise infrastructure with over 25,000 endpoints that includes the design, configuration, installation and troubleshooting of Cisco Unified Communications and Collaboration core system and end devices, as well as data networking.

Preferred Qualifications |
Hands-on knowledge of telecommunications, voice and video technologies and their applications. This knowledge should include the ability to install and maintain
UCS Servers, conduct Cisco cluster upgrades, Connected
UCS, Cisco Expressway and Meeting Server operation and upgrades,
PCD Patching and UC endpoint OS upgrades.
- Hands-on installing and supporting VMware ESXi and Vcenter.
- Cisco Bulk Administration Tool and RTMT
- Cisco Video Endpoints, Cisco Voice Gateways, Switches and Routers (Cubes / SBC)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco UC installation and maintenance techniques
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco IP Phones/Telepresence/Video Endpoints, Cisco Jabber/WebEx, Zoom/MRA, Quality of Service (QoS) related to IP Telephony/Video, CUCM / Control Hub / VM / CMS / TMS / MRA / UCCX / Unity / Singlewire / Spam filtering software, UC testing, monitoring, diagnostics and reporting tools, and call authentication system.
- Experience Training IT staff and end users.

- Ability to remove and replace ceiling tiles, and work above the ceiling.
- Ability to move computer and fax equipment, desks and furniture to access wall outlets.
- Ability to lift and carry 60lbs and climb a 6-foot ladder.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools as they relate to the installation of 32-98-inch wall-mounted displays.
- Ability to work in tight spaces and be able to pull and punch down cabling.
- Desk work requires use of a computer, sitting or standing at desk.
- Willing to travel, when necessary, to sites throughout New Jersey for business demands.
- Office environment.
- Moderate Noise.
