We are currently seeking a Head of Global Tax to join our Boart Longyear team in Salt Lake City, UT.

As the Head of Global Tax, you will be responsible for overseeing all domestic and international tax-related matters for our global operations and will be an integral part of the global finance management team. You will serve as a critical advisor to others in the company about tax risks and opportunities that may impact business decisions being made. You will implement tax strategies, including building and overseeing a tax team, that align with the organization's objectives while ensuring compliance with international, federal, and local tax regulations. This role will collaborate with tax directors and other tax members throughout the broader organization. To build relationships across teams and with key stakeholders this position will be an in-office minimum of 4 days a week and require occasional travel.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and execute global tax strategy to minimize tax risk, minimize cash taxes and maximize cash flow while maintaining flexibility in company operations.

* Monitor the company's transfer pricing policies, including identifying and implementing changes as required, and related documentation. Work with Enterprise Tax Director on globally transfer pricing reporting and Pillar Two reporting.

* Serve as a subject matter expert on tax matters to other functions in the company to help identify and communicate tax implications of potential business decisions.

* Proactively provide advice on how new or changing tax laws and regulations may impact the business.

* Develop, implement, and maintain tax policies and controls.

* Manage the preparation of the income tax provision and related disclosures in support of the company's IFRS financial reporting

* Manage outside service providers in the preparation of US and foreign corporate income tax returns.

* Preparation of tax information for auditors, consultants and other parties as needed to support tax initiatives or in the event of audit or inquiries.

* Build strong relationships and work cross-functionally with other finance functions to ensure a smooth and timely monthly close.

* Oversee transaction tax reporting and compliance as it relates to sales and use tax, VAT, GST, and other indirect taxes.

* Oversee third party service providers and manage internal resources.

* Explore and then manage the preparation of international R&D tax credits and incentives.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, Chartered Tax Adviser) is preferred.

* Minimum of 10 years of experience in a tax-related role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within a multinational organization, preferably in the mining or natural resources sector.

* Extensive knowledge of international tax regulations, transfer pricing, and compliance.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.

* Proven leadership and team management abilities.
