House Managers are to be mature in decision making and possess the ability to use good judgment in all matters.
Must be suitably attired and well-groomed. Maintains good judgment when faced with an unexpected or disturbing turn of events. Maintains poise and emotional stability in the full range of his/her professional activities. Knowledge of mental retardation as applied to individual programs. Ability to maintain all necessary records with neatness, accuracy and completeness. Thorough knowledge of the policies and procedures of AVS. Knowledge and ability to implement proper practices and techniques of supervision. Ability to life, transfer and physically assist clients typically exceeding fifty (50) pounds. Must be flexible and organized. Knowledge of ICF/MR regulations and subsequent active treatment approach. Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other agencies, staff, residents and parents of residents. Ability to plan, train, organize and direct the work of subordinate staff. Communicates with Residential Services Director in a timely manner all concerns of the clients, staff and living unit.
