The Conference Assistant (CA) position is an integral member of the Housing team, serving as a liaison of the Housing Office and Florida International University to all conferences held at the institution. The Conference Assistant serves as a service provider and resource for summer conference organizers and attendees. Conference organizers and attendees can be interns of the university, groups of special programs which collaborate with the university, and/or persons outside of the University community. As members of the Housing Office staff, the CAs work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services and information. Together, the CAs and other housing staff provide services that support the mission, vision, and values of the Housing and Residential Experience department. With the goal of providing excellent services to conference guests in the residence halls, CAs are responsible for assisting with day-to-day administrative and customer service responsibilities. The Conference Assistant is a paraprofessional staff member of the Housing Office and reports directly to a professional staff member. Work Schedule
- The CA will be scheduled for no more than 30 hours per week during the summer. Advertised Salary
$14.00/hour - CAs are compensated with $14.00 per hour for each hour worked, paid bi-weekly via direct deposit. The CA is responsible for accurately reviewing and submitting their hours to ensure they are paid appropriately. - CAs are required to live on campus and will be provided with a private room as a part of the compensation package.
