Job Description

The Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business, Master's Programs Office is recruiting for an Advising & Student Services, Assistant Director to lead the Student Services team in delivering program services to students and faculty, which includes advising, event programming, and enrollment forecasting.

Reporting to the Director of Master's Programs, the Advising & Student Services, Assistant Director provides direct supervision direction, guidance and counsel to the Master's Programs Senior Academic Advisor. Regularly support, strategically plan and collaborate with the Director of Master's Programs; develop, mentor and train staff; enhance and maintain effective communication and relationships within the Trulaske College of Business, MU and college professional organizations.

This position is part of a larger master's programs student support services team working together to provide the best customer service necessary to build and maintain strong relations with students and internal customers. Working closely and accurately within established guidelines of the university, the unit, program objectives and funding limitations, this position includes graduate student support, faculty support, large and small-scale event coordination, execution of communications and daily operations of program, course registration, course material ordering and supervision of graduate student advisors.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provides leadership and supervision for Master's Programs Senior Academic Advisor, including goal setting, development planning, coaching and evaluation.

Understands key drivers and serves as the academic advisor and subject matter expert to MBA and Master of Accountancy degree candidates to increase percentage of program completions and professional development opportunities with external partners.

* Ensures efficiency, productivity, of balancing the advising load between Advising & Student Services, Assistant Director and Senior Academic Advisor.

* Analyzes enrollment for all graduate courses and collaborates with Director of Master's Programs and Department Chairs regarding course caps and number of sections for each course, leveraging technical experience, data and other factors as identified to understand and accomplish balances in enrollments and number of courses/sections.

* Serves as functional area liaison, with course catalog revisions and work with faculty as needed on course sequencing and major revisions.

* Directs new student orientation programming both in person and virtually.

* Oversees the coordination and implements student events for assigned programs.

* Oversees the student registration process.

* Plans and executes virtual programming for all master's students within the Trulaske College of Business.

* Executes activities related to academic progress such as academic probation, out-of-synch/off-track students, withdrawals, dismissals, and other student enrollment adjustments in alignment and compliance with university policies, procedures and practices.

* Ensures graduation paperwork is processed for students in a timely manner.

* Coordinates the distribution of graduation survey and manages data related to student outcomes.

* Provides assistance and information to faculty, staff and outside organizations regarding function/program.

* Manages unit expenditures and requests, submits disbursement forms.

* Supports faculty in a hybrid and online classroom environment.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, occasional nights and weekends (2-3 times per semester)

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years' experience with Academic Advising

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $48,900 - $68,815 a year

Grade: GGS 10
