In the role of a Business Operations Coordinator you will be working in the Cell Biology, Neurobiology and Anatomy Department.
Function as a key coordinator for Department administrative operations involving departmental finances, space/facilities, and special projects in order to support operational objectives and strategic initiatives, consistent with MCW policies and procedures. Provide oversight for space and facilities, and administrative business practices across CBNA units. Foster consistency in practices and adherence to MCW policy throughout the Department. Primary Functions * Provide post-award grant management, including monthly financial reporting to Principal Investigators. * Assist in the development and preparation of budgets and analysis of financial information. Prepare and evaluate monthly financial summaries to present to Chair for continuity in fiscal stewardship. * Monitor, prepare, and submit compensation transactions to ensure accuracy of effort and appropriateness of resources. * Participate in the management of office services and operations including preparing reports, analysis, and other business services. * Contribute to the success of an administrative team in a large basic science research department, interacting with faculty, staff, scientists and students. Coordinate departmental operations and allocate people, material, and financial resources to ensure operational efficiency. Ensure correct functioning of facilities, office and/or business support services. * Identify, enhance, and follow specific processes and procedures to maximize the efficiency of the department. Develop standing operating procedures and implement approved changes. Cross-train in other departmental functions to ensure business continuity and that administrative, fiscal and institutional objectives are met. Assist in the development of departmental policy. * In concert with departmental leadership, coordinate departmental activities related to space, and ongoing facilities operations to include working in the institutional space management system. Maintain records of equipment inventory and maintenance in appropriate record-keeping systems. * Carry out special projects on behalf of departmental leadership. Collaborate with MCW Central Services to implement administrative and programmatic functions in support of the departmental strategic and operational objectives while maintaining alignment with institution-wide initiatives. * Other duties as may be assigned. * Follow the MCW code of conduct, all laws, regulations and policies and ensure legal compliance with governmental and grant requirements. Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Knowledge of technical, financial, business, consultation, project management, and cultural awareness.
Specifications Minimum Required Experience: 4 years Preferred Experience: Prior administrative or leadership experience preferred. Why MCW?
