Cox Enterprises / The Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) is looking for a talented Systems Administrator I to join their team in Atlanta, GA. This is a technical position that provides second level support for Cox Enterprises, Inc. desktops, laptops, software, printers, mobile and AV devices.

This position will provide support to over 400+ local and remote users and computer systems. The position is responsible for the rollout of corporate software and hardware. Good communications skills are a must. This role is responsible for supporting Windows, and MacOS operating systems and communicating status on issues to team members and leadership staff. Other duties include configuring, maintaining, and supporting client's network connectivity.

Due to the corporate environment, occasional personalized support for the Executive staff located on the Campus will be necessary. You must be diplomatic, tactful and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel. To be successful in this position, you must be focused on results and you must be willing and capable of managing multiple support tasks concurrently within a corporate executive environment.

This position is in the Team Member Experience Endpoint Support team and will require this individual to participate in any operational rotations such as off hour implementations to avoid outages to our executive customers. 40+ or after-hours support is necessary in this position.

Responsibilities Include :

  • Installation and configuration of operating systems and software applications, hardware components for laptops and desktops, and local and network printers and other peripherals.
  • Represent the team or group at technical and status meetings as required.
  • Maintain status of issues and their resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Stay current on new technology and propose ideas to the team and management that improve efficiency or effectiveness.
  • Prepare status reports for current activities and projects.
  • Carryout diagnosis and repair of network-related problems.
  • Preserve passwords, data integrity and file system security for the computing environment.
  • Maintain outstanding verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate seamlessly with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization.
  • Resolve issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent solutions.
  • Research and recommend technical solutions that will enhance the support for the desktop.
  • To create, maintain and publish relevant support documentation in order to assist all staff in the quick resolution of their incidents and service requests and enable users to become more self-sufficient.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Takes ownership of customer problems and works with a sense of urgency to resolve incidents and problems.
  • Communicates status of progress to the customer.
  • Responsible for user data and migration of profiles as computers are replaced.
  • Works with application development teams to identify application issues at the customer level and provide technical detail in order for development teams to accurately identify problems within applications.
  • Works with network infrastructure teams to identify network issues at the customer level and provide significant technical detail to assist in network hardware resolutions.
  • Troubleshooting advanced hardware and software issues.
  • Completion of all support incidents within the Service Level Agreement.
  • Ability to work daily break/fix and service request incidents assigned.
  • Support for tablet, smartphones and other connected endpoints.
  • Maintenance of computer organizational units within Active Directory.
  • Device management and imaging using IBM BigFix.
  • Research and provide issue resolutions for VPN connectivity issues.
  • Secondary support for the virtual desktop environment; monitoring, creating and deploying virtual desktops.
  • Looking for ways to better engage end users, ensuring they walk away more productive and become enthused about IT with each interaction


Qualifications :

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years' experience in a related field
  • Proficient in Desktop Support within a corporate environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting both Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Experience with AV equipment, including MS Teams, Zoom and conference room technologies.
  • Experience with mobile device management and support (Apple and Android preferred).
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.


Preferred

  • Comp TIA A+ certification
  • Remote Support or Helpdesk experience
  • Experience supporting Enterprise and 3rd party software applications.
  • Experience supporting Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365 as well as TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP is desired.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.


USD 59,600.00 - 89,400.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $59,600.00 - $89,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
