The Production Manager will oversee the operations of each department related to employee training, safety adherence, performance, product quality, process improvement, and meeting and or exceeding production target goals. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies are essential functions of this role.



  • Enforces strict safety guidelines and ensures environmental compliance is being adhered to.
  • Balances safety, quality, cost and delivery to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Collaborates with manager on daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicates these to department leads and employees.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting of daily production metrics to the manager.
  • Analyze production data and reports to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment and coordinate with the manager if equipment maintenance is needed and get fixes implemented
  • Ensure production output is following assembly and quality inspection processes to achieve quality goals and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication is being provided to employees regarding the goals and expectations of the department.
  • Identify and implement process improvements working with the Continuous and Quality Improvement team in alignment with the company strategic direction of standardization.
  • Drive teams to understand and adhere to culture of safety and quality aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Ensure employees complete the required safety and compliance training by scheduled due dates.
  • Ensure continual training and that employees properly follow safe equipment use.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping of employees and working with the manager and human resources put in place corrective actions for excessive and or pervasive issues.
  • Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Work closely with shift supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective.
  • Manage communications with sales, customers and vendors as appropriate and assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • 5 years+ multi-department management in the electromechanical and or transformer production, both key areas in the power industry or closely related industries.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.
  • WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred.
  • OSHA10 certified preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • A proven track record in safetyand quality excellence is required.
  • Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notifies management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
  • Ability to interpret work orders and ensure the team has what they need to be set up for success to execute.
  • Meet department and production goals set by manager.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
  • Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values.
  • Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
  • Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
    • Standing and walking for long durations
    • Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
    • The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
    • Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods
    • Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
