Job Description

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part-Time Clinical Instructors interested in teaching students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program studying at ourIrwindale, CA campus.#on-site

You will be mentoring students in person at an inpatient clinical setting, making connections between what our students are learning in the classroom and during simulations, and their real-world application in patient care. By bridging this gap, we can ensure that our students are not only well-prepared for their roles as healthcare professionals but also confident in their abilities to provide high-quality care to their patients.

Clinicals are scheduled in your choice of oneof the following areas:

  • North and South Los Angeles County
  • Orange County
  • Riverside County
  • San Bernadino County
  • Santa Clarita Valley
  • San Fernando Valley

Required commitment is one 8-12/hour shift per week for each 8-week session at one of our clinical partner sites.

Candidates with a completed MSN are encouraged to apply -Teaching experience is not required!

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
  • A Master's in Nursing (MSN), or doctoral degree (DNP/PhD) in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
  • An unencumbered Californianursing license
  • Active BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network)
  • At least twoyears professional experience within last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is $65 per hour for the first 8-hours per day and $97.50 per hour overtime for any hours worked over 8 per day.
