Continuing Medical Education Internship

Performs administrative staff work in support of research and review projects focusing on Hospital policies and procedures and department operations. The Office of Continuing Medical Education at Northwell Health serves a diverse healthcare community. In support of improving patient care, Northwell Health has always strived to be a premier provider of continuing medical and professional education and our organization places a high value on team-based learning and education. We are excited to be among the leaders in the development of team-based interprofessional continuing education (IPCE). Northwell's program of IPCE exists to improve interprofessional skills/strategy, enhance performance of the healthcare team and the outcomes of patient care. As a system of care, emphasis is placed on the identification of areas for improvement through the system's Quality Improvement Department for which CE is closely aligned.
Responsibilities

  1. Participates in the collection and preparation of data relative to the work of the department.
  2. Assists in studies to objectivity ascertain the efficiency, economy and effectiveness of department or Hospital operations, policies and procedures.
  3. Assists management in facilitating new programs and/or procedures.
  4. Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.


Qualifications



  1. High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  2. Currently enrolled in college majoring in Business, Marketing, Health or related field, required. Undergrad junior, undergrad senior or graduate level.
  3. Prior administrative experience in a hospital setting, preferred.
  4. Detail oriented and skilled in Microsoft Office, strongly preferred.

Schedule and Location:

Hybrid position - Part-time 20-30 hours/week

Duration: July to September 2025

Lake Success, New York
