Senior Civil Engineer (Bridges)

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will work as a project manager and lead a team in developing bridge project scopes, construction schedules, and project deliverables. You will effectively monitor the progress and budget of assigned projects while managing a quality assurance program for bridge design across one or more districts. You will collaborate with the assistant chief bridge engineer to create statewide policies and resolve construction or material challenges. Additionally, you will review ancillary structures for structural adequacy and evaluate submissions for various bridge types. As a confident civil engineer, you will modify plans as needed and collaborate with project development teams to address any issues promptly.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
• Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
• Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
