DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Equipment Operator, you will conduct laundry deliveries, load and unload laundry vehicles, and supervise inmates assigned to laundry operations. You will complete vehicle safety checklists, maintain driver logs, submit mileage reports, and conduct inventories. In addition, you will perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor equipment repairs to ensure the safe operation of tractor-trailers, trucks, and other motor vehicles used to complete daily work assignments. This role requires the ability to train and oversee inmate workers in the standard practices of freight terminal operations, while adhering to safety and security protocols at all times. - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in the operation of tractor-trailer trucks; or
- A combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class A Commercial Driver's License that is not under suspension.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
