ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented PLC Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on the design, programming, and maintenance of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems to optimize manufacturing and industrial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, control systems, and troubleshooting in a production environment.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Develop, program, and test PLC systems to meet production and operational requirements
  • Create and optimize PLC programs using primarily Allen-Bradley / Rockwell software
  • Integrate PLC systems with other automation equipment, including HMIs (Aveva intouch & factory talk view), SCADA systems, and robotic systems
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC systems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation
  • Oversee the installation, calibration, and commissioning of PLC systems on-site
  • Prepare detailed documentation, including system diagrams, program backups, and maintenance manuals
  • Ensure all PLC systems comply with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, quality assurance, and Information Technology to implement and improve automation solutions
  • Provide training and support to maintenance and operations staff on PLC system operation and troubleshooting

YOU ARE

  • Strong in problem-solving and analytical skills
  • An excellent communicator that works well with a team
  • Knowledgeable of safety standards like ISO, IEC, and NFPA

YOU HAVE

  • Proven experience in PLC programming and system integration
  • Familiarity with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley (RSLogix), Siemens (S7/TIA Portal), Beckhoff, or others
  • Strong knowledge of control systems, sensors, and actuators
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Twincat)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a distribution center environment
  • Familiarity with robotic systems or vision systems is a plus
