ABOUT THE POSITION
The Manager of Software Engineering is responsible for overseeing all activities that relate to prAna specific application solutions. This includes the day-to-day management and enhancement of our ERP, data and analytics, retail, planning, integration solutions and other in-house applications.

This is a hands-on cross functional role working closely with Information Technology and Business Stakeholders to deliver and support systems and solutions. The role drives execution of technical solutions that align with enterprise standards, and collaborates on short and long term technical product vision, strategy, and architecture. They seek a balance between technical excellence and timely delivery while continually seeking to improve engineering practices. They are passionate about growing the skills and capabilities of the engineering team.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Inspire, motivate and coach team members to achieve maximum productivity and optimal creativity on software development processes, technical patterns, quality and delivery management best practices. Improve and optimize software development practices and processes
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team by defining, implementing, and maintaining a coherent, progressive development strategy
  • Work with key stakeholders and business leaders to transform business roadmaps and requirements into an actionable technology roadmap
  • Collaborate with others within Columbia, on engineering best practices and dependencies and advocate them within the team
  • Stay at the forefront of new and/or upcoming technology solutions and drive the future solution roadmap.
  • Provide a balance between technical excellence, adhering to engineering delivery principles, business features, and product delivery goals
  • Participate in code and design reviews to help ensure stability and quality
  • Improve, optimize, and identify opportunities for improved software development life cycle
  • Responsible for staff development & coaching, hiring, and managing contractors and vendors
  • Manage vendors and technology providers to solve problems, address enhancements and deliver quarterly upgrades.
  • Document and proficiently explain complex architecture patterns to technical and functional peers and as needed and to other levels of the organization.

  • Well-versed in modern software development practices including CI/CD and cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field. Relevant work experience in lieu of degree may be considered
  • 2+ years as a manager of technology team in an Agile environment (Scrum preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience developing solutions using .Net/ C#
  • 5+ years of experience with an ERP
  • Experience with modern cloud architecture patterns
  • Strong software design skills incorporating fundamental Technical Architecture best practices
  • Experience executing on a technology roadmap including team transformations from on premise to cloud based solutions
  • Experience with modern software development practices including microservice development, automated quality processes, DevOps based CI/CD pipelines and observability tools and processes to ensure production systems are automatically monitored 24x7
  • Strong Relational Database knowledge and experience

Salary Range: $123,800 - $206,500 *Pay decisions are determined by multiple factors, including what the market is paying, a candidate's capabilities and skills, years of experience, and internal equity.
