DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Nurse Aide, you will meet residents' personal hygiene, physical, and emotional needs to maintain a healthy, clean, and safe environment. You will also have the chance to contribute to the rehabilitation and restoration of residents through participating in programs designed to help them reach their full potential for independence and self-fulfillment. By working alongside professional staff, you will gain valuable experience and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. This opportunity allows for personal growth and fulfillment as you assist others in reaching their goals. In addition, you will make decisions regarding resident care based on training and in consultation with Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, Registered Nurse Supervisors, Nurse Managers, and the Director of Nursing.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (40 hours per week)
  • Work hours are 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, with a 30-minute lunch) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with no lunch).
    • Rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays
    • Work hours and schedule may change based on operational needs
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
  • Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.

Special Requirement:

  • This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
