DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Liquor Store Clerk 2, your primary role will involve leading a shift in a liquor store and overseeing duties performed by junior clerks, with a focus on specific tasks such as processing sales or managing shipments. In addition to overseeing other clerks, you will be required to perform routine responsibilities. These duties encompass customer service engagement, operating the cash register, unloading shipments, stocking shelves, creating displays, and maintaining store cleanliness. You will also be responsible for training lower-level employees on store policies and procedures, assigning tasks, reviewing their work, completing shift accounting and inventory reports, managing cash-related issues, and addressing customer service and product concerns.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 75 hrs. biweekly.
  • Work hours may vary from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday.
  • Salary: The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (commonwealth titles); or
  • Six months of retail sales work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
