Primary Purpose Responsible for the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of Parkland's assigned quality management program (QMP). Will work with QMP's leadership to implement the Quality, Safety, and Performance Improvement Plan for the health system. Perform concurrent and retrospective medical record reviews, compiles and analyzes statistical reports relevant to monitoring, performance improvement, and achievement of applicable service area goals. Ensures compliance with standards established by professional quality organizations, national, state, and local regulatory agencies, and institutional policies and procedures. Responsibilities 1. Abstract system-wide quality improvement (QI) data, interprets, then complies management level reports to communicate quality data results to nursing and physician leaders. Systematically facilitates and managers outcomes related to interdisciplinary working group efforts leading to improvements and applies improvements to achieve identified outcomes. Serves as a trainer, facilitator, and mentor to other teams and within an interdisciplinary team structure on quality data, methods, and processes. 2. Works independently to research and apply industry logic and governance within cross functional and interdisciplinary teams to include Physicians. Influences and communicates with all levels of clinical, financial, and operational management concerning team goals and progress, as well as related project results and shared learnings to all levels of the health system. 3. Collects and analyzes data for inclusion in easily digestible reports to key stakeholders across organization. Identifies and implements strategies to optimize opportunities related, but not limited to the following: PSIs, mortality rate, core measures, readmissions, etc. in order to maximize CMS reimbursement for the organization. Searches out best performance and quality improvement practices and identifies opportunities for implementation. 4. Serves as a subject matter expert for the QCPSC, PIC committee meetings, and other pertinent meetings to ensure the overall Quality, Safety, and PI plan implementation and compliance. Prepares appropriate documentation (presentations, demonstrations, and other reporting processes) to share information regarding quality program measures to identify trends, establish priorities, and recommend improvement activities. 5. Lead comprehensive, concurrent and retrospective reviews according to established guidelines at appropriate intervals in a timely manner for assigned patient population for Patient Safety and Quality of Care. Delivers, oversees controls, monitors training programs, and develops training materials for area specific training, soft skills training, and other topics as needed. 6. Consults and educates on behalf of Quality Management to meet the needs of patients, staff, and external agencies. Evaluates upcoming opportunities, forecasts trends, and provides best practices and standards for project and or task approach. Makes recommendations regarding action plans or summaries related to Quality data by working with leadership and departments throughout the organization. 7. Conducts data analysis to determine performance trends in order to proactively recommend improvements and/or corrective actions. 8. Manages and communicates the changes to measures, new measures, findings, and potential problems regarding the core measures, NSQIP data, or other pertinent data registries to managers and other appropriate personnel. 9. Establishes and maintains a collaborative working relationship with internal and external customers by embracing Service standards of behavior during all patient, visitor, and staff encounters. 10. Investigates, analyzes, and resolves routine customer project management and support issues.
