DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for delivering a diverse array of correspondence; conducting discrepancy research; and providing correction and information services to external customers, partners, and contractors, as well as all levels within the Department of Transportation. Your role is essential for ensuring the accuracy of vehicle and disability placard records while fulfilling the customer service expectations of those who reach out to the unit.

Your duties will include typing correspondence, reports, and various documents from handwritten drafts for the supervisor's review and signature. You will also be involved in telephone communications; conducting research; entering data, and managing specialized tasks; in addition to proofreading; handling mailings; maintaining work logs; filing documents; and participating in training sessions; among various other duties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Organizational or Location Restrictions:

  • This posting is restricted to Department of Transportation employees only.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding. If no applicable union-covered bidders apply, other applicants will be considered.
