The Department of Labor & Industry is excited to welcome a motivated Cook 1 to perform specialized food preparation tasks in an institutional food service operation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Cook 1, you will be responsible for the preparation of all menu items in accordance with the production sheet, utilizing standardized recipes to ensure consistent quantity and quality, and adjusting recipes to yield required quantities and minimize waste. Within this role, it is imperative to diligently adhere to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures in all aspects of food handling and personal hygiene to ensure the safety of food products served to our customers. As a lead worker, you will also assist in coordinating work activities for other staff. Additional duties may involve completing weekly cleaning tasks, posting menus, receiving food deliveries, securing areas and doors, and pulling food items from storage. Interested in learning more? Possible shifts include 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
